Album Cover for “Call Me if You Get Lost”

Swallowed cockroaches. Posse cut fueled rap. Half man half centaur. Growing with Tyler was growing to love pastel colored chaos. But since 2018, following the emergence of his flower boy persona Tyler’s ditched the shock value antics. In exchange he’s focused on his r&b influences, he’s always cited chords from Stevie Wonder as a source of inspiration, and more concise songwriting. We’re here now and it’s Tyler playing Tyler Baudelaire and it seems he’s fallen in loves’ clutches once again.

“The sun beaming” Tyler observes on the track Sir Baudelaire. Laden with Dj Drama Ad-libs, Tyler is only warming up. As Drama trumpets: “this shit’s for the sun seekers”.

We enter a beat that can be described as what would happen if someone uploaded a french waltz type beat on youtube. Corso finds Tyler launching into his full stride. Innocent little wealth flexes, “Cookie Crumbs in the Rolls no weed crumbs no”, Tyler almost tries to distract us with a rapper facade while finally getting to the albums main subject matter. “Look, tried to take somebody bitch ’cause I’m a bad person /I don’t regret shit because that **** worth it/ In the end, she picked him, I hope when they fuckin’/ She still thinkin’ of me ’cause I’m that perfect.”

We almost have to forgive him though as he shows no remorse. And almost on cue drumline like brass sections sound on Lemonhead. Pure opulence is the message and Tyler’s living it.

The features on this project feature blasts from the pasts like Lil Wayne and Pharrell, current title holders of rap like Lil Uzi and Ty Dolla $ign and newcomers like 42 Duggz and Teezo Touchdown.

But who’s that on the horizon? Domo Genesis?! The fellow odd future affiliate has been silent and it’s always a pleasure hearing him spit. And signal boosting growth at that.

If we’re seeing Tyler in a different light it’s only because he wants us to. The growth heard on this album is an exciting turn for the MC
